OUR CONDUCTOR

Sandy Hay was born in Scotland and undertook his undergraduate degree in Glasgow specialising in Community Music. He moved to Birmingham for further study in flute performance at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

Since then, Sandy has undertaken a number of teaching roles and is well established as a teacher in the Birmingham area - both privately and within the Schools of the Kings Edward VI Foundation. He has been the Director of Birmingham Flute Choir (formerly the Harborne Flute Choir) since 2002 and has enjoyed being part of the group development.
